Governor Phil Scott Announces $57.9 Million Investment

07/18/2022 - Montpelier, VT – Governor Phil Scott, the Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD) and the Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) today announced that Vermont will receive $57.9 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to provide more access to capital for Vermont entrepreneurs and small business startups. Vermont's State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) program will include access to low interest loans and early-stage venture capital investments.

"My administration remains focused on retaining and creating jobs and supporting businesses in every region of the state,” said Governor Scott. “This program will support our innovative employers, helping them to grow and become national leaders while strengthening our communities here at home.”

In that time, the organization was able to help 806 Vermont businesses by approving $81.1 million in financing — positively impacting about 6,000 jobs.

VEDA Approved $26.6 Million in Business Development Financing Last Quarter

08/26/2021 - Montpelier, VT – During the most recent quarter ending June 30, The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) approved over $26.6 million in new financing to support 408 farms and businesses throughout Vermont. VEDA surpassed its previous quarter with a near $13 million increase. Of the newly approved financing, a total of $9.7 million was approved through VEDA’s traditional loan programs and $17.7 million in Small Business Administration (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program loans (PPP).

VEDA Approved $14.4 Million in Business Development Financing Last Quarter

04/21/2021 - Montpelier, VT – During the most recent quarter ended March 31, the Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) approved over $14.4 million in new financing to support commercial, agricultural, small business and renewable energy projects across Vermont. VEDA also closed over $25.4 million in new loans, including $14.5 million in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) forgivable loans for over 300 businesses and farms.

10/30/2020 - Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) approved $75 million in financing assistance for 439 Vermont businesses and farms during its fiscal year ended June 30. Loans were approved to businesses in over 17 economic sectors like agriculture, manufacturing and renewable energy generation, often in partnership with local banks, credit unions and other lenders.

10/19/2020 - Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) today announced $5.9 million in approved financing for Vermont businesses and farms during the quarter ended September 30. VEDA also approved an additional $641,000 in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans for 44 Vermont businesses and farms during the quarter before the program ended on August 8.
