NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be conducted telephonically by the Vermont Economic Development Authority (“VEDA”) on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. regarding the proposed issuance as part of a plan of finance, in one or more series or sub-series, of up to $60,000,000 stated principal amount of its tax-exempt revenue bonds (the “Bonds”) pursuant to Subchapter 4 of Title 10, V.S.A., Chapter 12 (which Bonds will not constitute a debt or pledge of the faith or credit of the State of Vermont or VEDA) and pursuant to Section 142(a)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, (the “Code”), to finance certain capital expenditures related to “solid waste disposal facilities” (within the meaning of Section 142(a)(6) of the Code), including, without limitation, landfill, solid waste collection, organics, transfer, recycling and hauling facilities (collectively, the “Project”) owned or operated or to be owned or operated by Casella Waste Systems, Inc. or its affiliates (collectively, the “Borrower”), and located at the following addresses within the State of Vermont:

VEDA Approved $26.6 Million in Business Development Financing Last Quarter

08/26/2021 - Montpelier, VT – During the most recent quarter ending June 30, The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) approved over $26.6 million in new financing to support 408 farms and businesses throughout Vermont. VEDA surpassed its previous quarter with a near $13 million increase. Of the newly approved financing, a total of $9.7 million was approved through VEDA’s traditional loan programs and $17.7 million in Small Business Administration (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program loans (PPP).

10/30/2020 - Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) approved $75 million in financing assistance for 439 Vermont businesses and farms during its fiscal year ended June 30. Loans were approved to businesses in over 17 economic sectors like agriculture, manufacturing and renewable energy generation, often in partnership with local banks, credit unions and other lenders.
