Loan Funds Available at 1% to Municipalities For Repair of Flood-Damaged Roads and Bridges
Did your town or city recently sustain damage to its roads and/or bridges caused by flooding? If so, the Vermont State Infrastructure Bank (SIB) may be able to assist you with a loan to perform repairs/reconstruction work while you wait to be reimbursed by federal emergency funds. SIB funding is available at very low interest rates for projects eligible under US CFR Title 23 or Title 49. The SIB is jointly-administered by the Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) and the Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT). The program makes loans for transportation projects that have a positive economic development impact.
SIB funding is also available for Title 23 and Title 49 eligible projects that are to be done in the normal course of maintaining/improving your roads and bridges. SIB funds can be used as a local “match” in larger projects.
For more information call either Steve Greenfield at VEDA (828-5459) or Karen Songhurst at AOT (828-1078).
