Sally Cavanagh has owned and operated Cavanagh Communications, a public relations and communications outreach consulting firm, since 2003. Between 1997 and 2002, Sally served first as Deputy Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, and then, as Commissioner. Before that, Sally served as Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development, where her primary focus was on small business marketing, and government marketing coordination efforts. Prior to her state government service, Sally worked as a statewide political communications coordinator, small business co-owner and freelance journalist. Sally completed the Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. She is a graduate of Woodbury College’s Mediation and Conflict Resolution Program, and holds a B.A. in English from Lyndon State College.
