07/20/2020 - Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) approved $6.4 million in new financing for Vermont businesses and farms in the quarter ended June 30. The Authority also approved an additional $11.7 million in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans for 268 Vermont businesses throughout the state and across a variety of industries. PPP was established by the CARES Act and is implemented by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). PPP supports small businesses during the COVID-19 crisis with forgivable loans to pay payroll and operating costs.  

Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) approved over $16 million in new financing for Vermont businesses and farms for the quarter ended March 31, a $7 million increase in volume over the previous quarter.

Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) named Thaddeus Richardson as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective February 20, 2020. In this role, he has broad responsibility for the Authority’s financial operations, including accounting, financial planning, forecasting and overall asset and liability management.

Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) approved over $9 million in new financing for Vermont businesses and farms this past quarter, a $4 million increase in volume over the same quarter last year. The new financing includes continued investment in Vermont’s small business sector, the first approval for VEDA’s Broadband Expansion Loan Program, and an exciting new business accelerator project in the Northeast Kingdom. 

Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) today announced its financial summary for the 2019 fiscal year. VEDA approved 231 new loans, providing $87.9 million in financing assistance to Vermont entrepreneurs, manufacturers, small businesses, and agricultural enterprises.

Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) approved over $25 million in loans for Vermont enterprises between July 1 and September 30, 2019. That total exceeds the previous quarter’s approval volume by $10 million.

The approved financing will support the growth and development of businesses and farms across the state, create new jobs, and improve Vermont’s renewable energy infrastructure.

Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) has named Peter Samson its Chief Lending Officer (CLO), effective July 1, 2019. He will lead the Authority’s Commercial, Agricultural and Loan Resolution lending departments.

Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) today announced that Cassie Polhemus has been named the Authority's new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2019. Polhemus is the current Chief Operating Officer at VEDA and joined the Authority in 2013 as a Commercial Lender. She will succeed Jo Bradley, who has served as VEDA's CEO since 1997 and is retiring on March 31st.
