Dancing Cow Farmstead Cheese, Inc.Vermont Agricultural Credit Corporation
Karen Getz and Jeanne Finnerty recently started Dancing Cow Farmstead Cheese, Inc. on Stephen and Karen Getz’ farm in Bridport, using milk produced by the Getzes’ organic dairy herd. VACC provided a $50,000 Operating Line of Credit to finance working capital to Dancing Cow for this start-up cheese maker.
VACC also financed a $196,000 Farm Ownership loan to Stephen and Karen Getz to refinance real estate debt on their scenic, 243-acre farm in Bridport, where they have developed a 20+ cow organic dairy herd. The farm includes the cheese making facility and cheese cave utilized by Dancing Cow, one of numerous cheese makers assisted by VACC financing.
