Dale and Tina Aines

Dale and Tina Aines own a 107-acre farm in Rupert, where their diversified farm products include raised calves for beef, harvested hay, and maple syrup.

Having used a neighboring property’s sugarhouse located a considerable distance from the road and utilities, Dale and Tina came to VACC to request a $75,000 Farm Ownership loan to construct a new sugarhouse on their farm. They also received from VACC a $152,000 operating loan to finance new sugaring equipment, install 6,000 new taps, and improve another 4,000 existing taps they use to make their syrup. With the improved facilities, Dale and Tina hope to greatly expand their annual syrup output, which is sold through wholesale markets.
